Waves - One of the first names in software Plug-Ins and early pioneers of DSP plugin processors have announced they are to drop support of the Digidesign/Avid TDM format.
The history of Waves is deeply seated in development for Pro Tools plugins so this is a major landmark moment to close the format that the brand was built on. Along with many other developers the brand also chose not to follow Avid's departure from TDM to AAX DSP on the HDX platform that replaced TDM.
Personally I thinks its a testament to the company to have supported the TDM format for longer than its owners Avid and they should be congratulated on that fact.
Current TDM users need not fear for their rigs as everything that currently works will continue to do so it's merely further development and support that will now end which shouldn't cause a problem seeing as Pro Tools 10 the last to support the TDM format has also ceased further development so nothing should change.
Here's the full report from Waves with details on how to secure yourself the latest working version of Waves TDM Plug-Ins, once you have done this its important to remember not to run any further updates of Waves Central in the future otherwise your TDM versions will be over written with later native only versions:

The products you selected are now installed.
Note that if you use Waves Central to install or update Waves plugins in any way other than using the above offline installer, your newly installed plugins will not support TDM, and you will lose TDM support for any Waves plugins previously installed on your computer.
