In this video we cover creating a bootable recovery drive with Paragon Backup and Recovery. We can use this drive to boot into a system that will not otherwise boot. From there we can restore a previously created system image.

Redstone 2 huh ! - Well as We mentioned in a previous article here on the Pro Tools PC blog, We are not in the habit of posting news about incremental Windows updates beyond the usual warning of creating safe backups and ensuring you have no mission critical outstanding work to get finished before taking the plunge and performing the updates. However (As the great BBC quiz show Mastermind states ) "I've started so I'll Finish and publish this post detailing the feature list for the upcoming Windows 10 Redstone 2 update due to be released into the wild at the end of March / Early April 2017.
The Windows key (or Start key) is a bit of an odd key. It goes unused in our daily computing life for the most part. A lot of really useful shortcuts are attached to it though. I thought I would take a look at the Windows key and some of the shortcuts used with it. I am not looking to explain EVERY shortcut, just some of the ones that I find to be more unique or extremely helpful.
Avid have just released a statement via their DUC forum with regards to the complications encountered wile rolling out new licenses for the release of Pro Tools 12.6. The details are as follows:

I have always been a big supporter of keeping system images through the Windows install process as well as before doing any updates. Windows system updates for example can occasionally go bad. Installing new software is always risky (ILOK...). Occasionally everything goes well but the new software is buggy or has a bug that you are not going to live with. Imaging is the easiest way to keep safety backups of your system.
